Rules and regulations for the conferment of Fellowship

Recognising Excellence in Clinical Anatomy

These rules shall be cited as the Rules and Regulations for the Conferment of the Fellowship of the Society of Clinical Anatomists (SOCA).

The Fellowship is the highest honour awarded by SOCA to recognise eminent individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Clinical Anatomy and related clinical fields, nationally or internationally.

Post-nominal designation Selected awardees are entitled to use "FSOCA" - Fellow of Society of Clinical Anatomists.

Eligibility

  • The nominee must be recognised nationally or internationally in Clinical Anatomy or a closely related discipline.
  • Nominations from both in-service and retired clinical anatomists, who have contributed significantly to the discipline of anatomy, would be considered.
  • The nominee must have demonstrated exceptional achievements in academic development and training, national or international collaboration, significant publications or research, or outstanding service to the profession or SOCA.
  • 10 years of Life Membership of SOCA is mandatory.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations may be submitted by any valid SOCA member.
  • Self-nominations are permitted if all eligibility criteria are met.
  • The proposer, in consensus with the seconder, must submit the required documents.
  • Applications must be submitted to the General Secretary on or before 30th November.

Selection Procedure

  • All nominations shall be reviewed by the SOCA Fellowship Committee.
  • The Committee may recommend candidates who have attained considerable distinction in anatomical sciences or rendered outstanding service to SOCA.
  • The decision of the SOCA Fellowship Committee is final and binding.

Conferment

  • The Fellowship shall be conferred at the Annual Conference of SOCA.
  • The selected candidate must be present in person to receive the Fellowship.
  • Awardees may be invited to deliver a plenary or keynote lecture during the conference.

Required Documents

  • A complete bio-data / CV of the nominee.
  • A documented record of scientific achievements, publications, and contributions.
  • Relevant supporting documents such as publications, awards, and recommendation letters, if applicable.

Rights and Privileges Fellows shall enjoy all rights and privileges of Full Members.
Fees A nominal fee of ₹5000 will be charged from the selected nominee at the time of conferment.
Validity Nominations are valid only for the year of submission and will not be carried forward.

General Provisions

Any matter not covered in these rules shall be decided by the SOCA Executive Committee.

SOCA reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
